Being savvy with your packing can help you save a little bit of money when you’re travelling abroad
B&M has a practical piece of luggage that won’t get knocked around at the airport. It’s also small enough to bypass any additional charges that airlines might tag onto your holiday spending.
The Hard Shell Cabin Case costs £25 and comes in black and grey online. Shoppers might be able to get their hands on pink and blue colour options in store, as they were spotted by a Facebook user who shared the deal.
Online, the cases are described as being ideal for a quick trip away for a few days. It added: “This cabin-sized suitcase will strap your belongings in tight and protect them with the hard shell while travelling.”
It measures approximately 45cm tall, 36cm wide and 20cm deep. This is approved by several major airlines that Brits use to jet abroad, including Easyjet, as per the labelling on the cases in stores that say ‘Suitable for Easyjet’.
Plenty were quick to share their thoughts on the cases. One said: “I always try to pack as much as possible in a carry on. Why spend extra on hold luggage when you could use that money for something more enjoyable?”
Another added: “I love these. Practical and stylish too!”
Someone else wrote: “Fit a week’s worth of summer clothes in this – just! Easyjet accepted it no problem when I flew last summer. So simple and saved a little money too!”
A fourth commented: “I flew with Easyjet last week and had no problems with this case. It was great!”
However, some warned not to get their hopes up if they travel with Ryanair. According to the official airline website, the free ‘small bag’ included with all fares must be 40x20x25cm, meaning the case is too big to fly without incurring a charge starting from £23.99.
One person wrote: “Don’t get caught out! This is too big for Ryanair!”
Another warned: “Be careful if flying Ryanair. They won’t accept these as under seat!”
It is always best to check baggage guidelines with the specific airline you’re travelling with. To avoid potential issues at the airport, avoid anything that’s too close to the maximum as this will allow for some wiggle room if you’re made to check before you travel.
The cases may not be available at your local branch, depending on stock levels. Find your closest few B&M stores using the online locator tool.
