The Boots Best of Beauty Box is packed with 26 products and offers a range of sought-after goodies, based on the health and beauty retailer’s bestsellers of the year

I’ve become renowned for my Christmas pamper hampers and each year, I try to make them bigger and better than ever. It started off as me giving away a couple of duplicate products I already owned or things I’d received in beauty boxes that I knew I wouldn’t use, but everyone loved it and what started off as a small gesture is now a trademark of my festive gift giving.

To help me craft this year’s bundles, Boots has launched a showstopping Best of Beauty edit that saves over £350 on premium brands. And it’s a fantastic way for me to add in some luxury treats to my loved one’s Christmas presents without having to have spent a fortune.

The Boots Best of Beauty Box comes in at £88 but has a jaw-dropping value of £451.60, saving customers £363.60 on the contents. Inside there’s a mix of makeup, skincare, haircare and even fragrance.

Packed with 26 products, including deluxe samples and 15 full-sized, the box offers a range of sought-after goodies, based on the health and beauty retailer’s bestsellers of the year. Beauty enthusiasts can expect names like Huda Beauty, Fenty Skin, Elemis and more, with each item working out at £3.38 each – which is a pretty tidy price for a stocking filler. So let’s take a look at some of the contents.

The undeniable star of the box has to be the full-size Huda Beauty Empowered Eyeshadow Palette, which is worth £62 alone. This palette has a stunning selection of highly pigmented, versatile shades that can transition seamlessly from everyday neutral looks to glamorous evening eye makeup. The inclusion of this palette already makes a considerable dent in the overall cost, making everything else feel like a bonus. Already in mind for this palette is my 10-year-old niece who has just started getting into makeup. All of her friends are in to P. Louise and Made By Mitchell, and I feel like having this in her beginner beauty arsenal will earn me some serious aunty points.

I get a great amount of joy from sharing the products I love with others, and the Best of Beauty Box is home to some of my all-time favourites, including the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream – a cult favourite that many beauty lovers swear by. Its heavenly holiday-inspired scent is instantly recognisable, and the rich, nourishing formula is perfect for keeping skin hydrated and smooth. Similarly, the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is renowned for its long-lasting hold, ensuring that makeup stays flawless through festive party season. My sister is already a devotee to the setting spray, but I think she’s going to love trying out the Sol de Janeiro cream, too.

Skincare enthusiasts will appreciate the inclusion of multiple high-performance products like the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and Lancome Genifique Ultimate Serum. However, I did notice that there is some duplication of products, which could be a downside if you were planning on keeping the haul for yourself or gifting it to just one person. For example, there are three cleansers – one from Elemis, another from Liz Earle and a third from Bubble. Personally, I don’t mind though as it means I can gift them to three different people, such as my mum, nan and niece, with each one feeling as though it targets a different age range.

There are also three eye creams, including REN, Shiseido and a third from Fenty Skin, which might feel excessive for some. However, it also means there’s a chance to try high-quality options that cater to different needs, from firming to brightening and smoothing. Personally, I’ll be keeping the Fenty Skin one for myself, and adding the others to the pamper hampers as I already have a bottle of the REN eye cream on the go.

Beyond some crossovers, the only other niggle I had with any of the products was that the r.e.m. beauty Utmost Importance Plumping Lipgloss might seem a little underwhelming compared to some of the other offerings. Its clear formula is universally flattering and easy to use, but I feel like a nude colour or festive red might have been more appealing.

On the flip side, items like the Patchology Serve Chilled On Ice Firming Eye Gels and Benetint Rose-Tinted Lip And Cheek Stain are sure to be crowd-pleasers. And the Floral Street Wonderland Peony fragrance is absolutely beautiful and will 100% be making its way into my pile – I will gift the Rabanne Lady Million mini, though.
