Jack Catterall faces a tough test ahead of him this evening when he goes head-to-head with Arnold Barboza Jr – with a win seemingly guaranteeing the Brit another world title fight

Jack Catterall is aiming to move closer to another world title fight when he takes on Arnold Barboza Jr for the WBO interim super lightweight this evening in Manchester.

After suffering the first defeat of his professional career back in 2022 to Josh Taylor, Catterall regained some form after defeating Darragh Foley and Jorge Linares before avenging his defeat to Taylor last year. The 31-year-old comes into the clash off the back of a unanimous decision victory over Regis Prograis in October.

It’s fair to say Catterall is in for a tough night at the office when he takes on Barboza Jr. With an undefeated record of 31-0, the 33-year-old will be looking to score a real upset in Manchester and comes into the outing off a dominant and impressive win over José Ramírez back in November. And so, here’s everything you need to know about tonight’s fights…

What time will Jack Catterall vs Arnold Barboza Jr start tonight?

The fight will take place at the at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester and is set to start at 7pm UK time (11am PT / 1pm CT / 2pm ET). Barboza Jr is set to make the walk to the ring first at around 10.30pm UK time (2.30pm PT / 4.30pm CT / 5.30pm ET) with Jack Catterall set to follow immediately after. Jack Catterall: “I know I’m in a great division with a lot of tremendous fighters. But nothing matters until after Saturday night. I’ve got to be 100 per cent focused on Arnold. But, that being said, we understand the business and if you look past Saturday there are so many great fights to be made. Lopez has got the WBO; hopefully that is a fight that can be made down the line. But I’ve got to beat him (Barboza) and beat him good on Saturday.”

Arnold Barboza Jr: “I just believe I am the best in the division, I don’t think anyone can f—k with me in this division. I’m just confident in myself. At the end of the day, we can do all the trash talking, I know he’s not a trash talker, I’m not a trash talker. Saturday’s going to determine everything, at the end of the day it’s a ring and that’s all that matters.”
