A brave victim who helped bring down the infamous Eunuch Maker mutilation ring revealed he was mutilated by a depraved monster.
The courageous man helped to bring infamous body mutilator Marius Theodor Snarum Gustavson to the police – sharing his harrowing story. The Swedish monster Gustavson had been live-streaming genital mutilations and making money from the horror practice.
Michael – not his real name – was castrated and branded six-years-ago. Michael, talking to CornwallLive, said: “This is not a unique case.”

He added: “It took someone from Cornwall to start the investigation, but it’s not just me, it’s hundreds of people. Hundreds.” Michael said he went to London in 2019 “for a bit of kink”, adding: “I went up there for sex. I am a kinky person. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
“And through a friend of a friend I met up with Gustavson. The friend said he was a serious player. And it was all ‘safe, sane and consensual’. Except it was none of those things.”
Michael said Gustavson unexpectedly stuck a syringe full of testosterone blockers into him. While he admitted to being a recreational drug user at the time, within weeks he found himself agreeing to being castrated by Gustavson and having the whole experience live streamed on the Eunuch Maker website for Gustavson’s paying followers to relish.
He said: “It was like a cult. Gustavson used the name Theo, which is the Greek word for God, on the website. And he was like God on it with the power of life and death almost. There were others using names like Zeus or Hades. It was evil.”
Michael added: “I know it’s messed up. I still don’t know why I did this. I had been in a dark place at the time. My best friend died suddenly from a stroke and another very dear friend died from cancer. I was nearly sectioned as my mental health was crashing.
“I had a relapse and probably spent seven days on crystal meth, which is never a good thing to do for anyone. Gustavson offered me £50,000. I was totally groomed into it. No-one would ever agree to this. It is so insane. No-one consents to being beaten up, mutilated, castrated or murdered.”
After going through with the mutilation, Michael returned home to Cornwall and spoke to his GP who referred him to the urology department at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske in Truro after his scrotum had turned black and swelled to larger than a tennis ball. He was also referred to drug addiction services. It was his counsellor who told him either he reports what happened to the police or they would.
Michael said: “I had to do it because of the hundreds of people being mutilated and castrated by Gustavson. It’s not unique at all. There were 22,000 members registered on the Eunuch Maker.”
Michael also wondered why no alarm bells rang with either the Met Police or London’s ambulance service when so many calls were being received to Gustavson’s London address over mutilations gone wrong.
It took Michael going to Devon and Cornwall Police for the horrors that befell him to be escalated to the Met and a full scale investigation into the Eunuch Maker to be launched. “They messed up big time,” Michael said. “Gustavson was arrested and interviewed. But when they bailed him he wiped his servers clean.
“It was not on hard drives or on his computer. It was all in the cloud. Some 18 months later the Met contacted me again to see if I might not have a copy of the video showing my own castration because they didn’t have it. I searched on Google for the name of that video and it was the first thing that came up. It was there as well as 40 or so other videos that people had put on other sites.”
Michael felt that as a result many people have got away with it. Nonetheless Gustavson is serving a life sentence with a minimum of 22 years behind bars before being eligible for parole. A total of seven men involved in performing the life-changing mutilations were jailed at the Old Bailey in May 2024.
Gustavson, 47, was involved in at least 22 procedures including the removal of victims’ testicles, the amputation of penises, clamping of testicles with burdizzo clips (ordinarily used by vets in the castration of cattle) similar to those he used on Michael, and the insertion of needles into genitalia.
Michael came forward and contacted CornwallLive after they reported the bizarre case of surgeon Andrew Neil Hopper, from Truro, who infected his own legs with dry ice so they could be amputated as part of a sexual fetish for amputations he had, and bought videos from the Eunuch Maker.
What happened to Michael took place at the same time in 2019 as Hopper was active on the website. Michael said: “Gustavson stuck his own legs in dry ice for eight hours in February 2019 then Hopper did it too. They were best mates. Gustavson was more into genitals mutilations while Hopper was more into limbs. There were reports of people sticking all four limbs in dry ice.”
