A Brit dad has died after he suffered a serious brain injuries in a freak quad bike accident while on holiday in Turkey.
The dad-of-two, from Orford, a Warrington suburb, was taken to intensive care in Turkey when the holiday turning into a nightmare. It is understood the accident happened just a few days into the holiday.
A JustGiving page is now raising funds to bring Wes Atherton’s body home as his family faces a “living nightmare”. The post, written on behalf of Atherton’s family and partner Fran, said their “lives changed forever,” following his death.
The post continued: “I lost the other half of me & my daughters lost their amazing father. I would be typing forever trying to put into words how much we love you & already miss you & how much you mean to us, your our world Wes & life will never be the same”
The JustGiving campaign, arranged by family friend Kelly Brooke, has set a target of £10,000 to cover the cost of bringing Atherton’s body home and pay off medical bills. As of Thursday morning the campaign has raised more than £6,440.
According to the Warrington Guardian, Atherton was being treated for brain damage and his family flew out to Turkey to be by his bedside. The family shared an update on Tuesday, May 14, that Atherton had died as a result of his injuries.
The Mirror found several family members paid tribute to the dad on Facebook.
