Jessica Hobson reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent at just 19 years old in 2011- and had a memorable emotional outburst – but the singer looks very different nowadays.

Jessica Hobson, who became an overnight sensation in 2011 after reaching the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent at just 19, is now barely recognisable from her time on the show. The singer and pianist, known for her curly brunette hair and bold style, has transformed as she steps into her thirties.

Still chasing her musical dreams, Jessica has relocated from Sheffield to London, where she shares a home with her partner Josh. With a modest following of just over one thousand on Instagram, her latest update dates back to 2021. Jessica, who seems to have ventured into acting alongside her singing career, describes herself as a ‘singer/actress’ in her bio, reports OK!.

During her memorable stint on Britain’s Got Talent, Jessica left a lasting impression in the live semi-final, but not without facing some tough criticism from Simon Cowell. He branded her performance “dated” and her outfit choice “silly”. Overwhelmed by Simon’s biting remarks, Jessica tearfully revealed that it wasn’t her decision to sing that particular song, hinting at production’s involvement, before her microphone was abruptly cut off.

Jessica didn’t let being kicked out of the competition stop her; she went on to audition for X Factor a year later, only to be sent packing during Boot Camp. She gave The Voice UK a shot twice, initially without success, but on her second go, Will.I. Am turned his chair for her, although she was later eliminated from the show.

And not the only Britain’s Got Talent alum to have changed their appearance since appearing on the show. Jonathan Antoine, who graced the stage a year after Jessica, has undergone an impressive transformation.

At just 17 years old, he competed in the 2012 series alongside Charlotte Jaconelli and has since shed a significant amount of weight by overhauling his lifestyle and diet.

He confessed to previously lacking discipline, but now asserts: “I’ve still got a lot to lose but I’m making my way. I feel stronger and healthier than I have in 10 years, which is a lot. This year I’ve made an active choice. I’ve felt I’ve lacked the discipline a lot. When I was out in America its fast food everywhere. I was in a terrible state in the start of the year and I’ve been able to claw my way back doing light exercise.”

“I’m a very big fella so heavy exercise would just tear me up. I’m working my way up, thinking about what I eat because that is important.”
