Andrew Haskins has likely clinched the title of ‘husband of the year’ after securing a dreamy getaway for his wife Toni-Ann and himself to the swanky NG Phaselis Bay LifeStyle Resort in Antalya through Jet2holidays

Brit holidaymakers have snagged the deal of a lifetime, flying to Turkey with their hotel stay included for a mere £10.85 – less than the cost of a couple of beers at a UK airport.

Andrew Haskins has likely clinched the title of ‘husband of the year’ after securing a dreamy getaway for his wife Toni-Ann and himself, while adding a dash of romance to the mix.

The savvy construction assistant manager from Yate, South Gloucestershire, played his cards right in Jet2holidays’ ‘Bid for a Break’ scheme, landing a seven-night luxury stay in Antalya by bidding a sentimental figure combining the date he met his beloved and the year of his birth.

With a cheeky bid of just £10.85, Andrew was gobsmacked to learn he’d placed the lowest unique offer, bagging a week-long Indulgent Escapes retreat for two at the swanky NG Phaselis Bay LifeStyle Resort in Antalya for less than the price of two airport pints.

A recent survey has revealed that the average cost of a pre-flight pint at UK airports has soared to a staggering £6.75, with prosecco hitting nearly £9.59 a glass, reports the Daily Star.

Over the moon, Andrew shared: “My wife, Toni-Ann, and I have entered Bid for a Break a few times, but until now have not been successful. I saw on Instagram that the competition had relaunched and decided to give it another go. The winning amount is a combination of the date I met my wife (10 June) and the year I was born (1985) a silly idea that resulted in a fantastic holiday win for us! Thank you to Jet2holidays we can’t wait to go to Antalya.”

Since its 2021 launch, Jet2holidays’ ‘Bid for a Break’ has seen millions of hopeful holidaymakers throw their hat in the ring. Due to popular demand, the tour operator recently decided to resurrect the campaign for a limited time, with just one remaining holiday up for grabs.

Over the past three years, lucky travellers have secured getaways with Jet2holidays to destinations spanning Europe, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, with winning bids starting from a mere 2p.

Holidaymakers have one final shot to follow in Andrew’s footsteps and bid on a break with Jet2holidays. The bidding window opens at the stroke of midnight on Monday and shuts one minute before midnight on Thursday, allowing holidaymakers to submit their final offers until 9 May.

The last holiday on offer is a seven-night VIBE getaway for two adults at the Dalmacija Places Hotel by Valamar in Split, Croatia.

To enter, all holidaymakers need to do is download the Jet2 mobile app, sign up for a myJet2 customer account and place their bid to the nearest penny. If their bid is the lowest unique amount, they’ll bag the holiday for that price.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy says: “Since its launch, our Bid for a Break campaign has proven extremely popular with holidaymakers. At Jet2, we’re always looking at ways to give our customers more, so that is why we wanted to bring back the campaign again and give everyone another chance to bid for a break.”

“We would like to congratulate Andrew on his successful bid to secure an Indulgent Escape to Antalya for just £10.85. We hope he and his wife have a fantastic time in Turkey. With just one more holiday available to bid on over the next week, holidaymakers still have the opportunity to pay as little as just a few pence for their next getaway.”
