A new study has found that 76% of Brits are planning to try new outdoor activities this year – here are some of the most popular pursuits to try in 2025

Outdoor activities are all the rage for 2025, with a whopping three-quarters of Brits set to embrace the great outdoors in the upcoming months.

Spurred by a zest for fitness and a yearning to bond with nature, the poll commissioned by Jeep UK has discovered the top 40 outdoor activities that Brits can’t wait to dive into.

The list boasts an array of eclectic activities such as foraging, stargazing, and beachcombing, not to mention wildlife-centric pastimes like fishing, horseback riding, and taking a dip in natural pools.

Jeep UK’s Managing Director Kristian Cholmondley weighed in on the findings, suggesting they mirror “our fundamental need to escape the digital world and embrace the physical world around us.”

A staggering eight out of ten Brits show a keen interest in outdoor hobbies that offer a chance to interact with Mother Nature.

Activities on the rise include rockhounding (the hunt for rocks, minerals, and fossils), penning down experiences in nature journals, and capturing the wild through wildlife photography.

The stats reveal that the average Brit is clocking in over five hours weekly in the pursuit of outdoor leisure. However, venturing out for these activities isn’t without its obstacles.

Many pointed out that travel costs, time constraints, and a lack of confidence can make it difficult to do the activities. And good transportation is crucial to gain access to the more rural or remote areas where these activities typically happen.

According to the study, when choosing a vehicle for outdoor exploration, Brits prioritise reliability, comfort, and safety above all else.

“Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a spontaneous outdoor adventure, the need for accessible, dependable transportation is at an all-time high,” Kristian stressed.
