You never know what you could have lying in your stash until the moment you actually have a good glance. Now you might have these old coins worth thousands in your pocket!

Rare coins can be worth a ton of money – especially if you decide to sell.

It’s no secret the Kew Gardens 50p coin is one of the most sought-after by collectors. With just 210,000 in circulation, it can be extremely difficult finding one of these in your possession. Selling a piece could get you £250, if not more depending on the condition.

But now let’s steer our attention away from the Kew Gardens coin as one TikTok user reckons the designs from the old ages are worth loads too. Thanks to @CoinCollectingWizard, many social media fans are rushing to look at their coin stash to search for these.

In a recent video online, he detailed five specific designs. The user said: “Hey you with the old coins, check these old British ones that are worth thousands. First up is the 1924 Florin or Two Shillings, this coin has a value of £65 in fine condition and over £145 in uncirculated condition.

“The 1949 Brass Three Pence has a very low mintage of just 464,000. One of these recently sold for just under £500 in fine condition. The 1925 Florin is next with another low mintage of just over a million. This coin sells for around £40 in good condition and over £500 in uncirculated condition.”

He didn’t forget to give an old penny from 1869 a mention either as he continued: “No one knows how many of these were minted but it can have a value of up to £5,000 in good condition.” Then finally, he concluded: “The 1905 Half Crown is one of the rarest half crowns to ever be minted, with just over 166,000.

“This can fetch anywhere between £450 and £10,000.” So do you have any of these coins in your pocket? Since the video was shared on TikTok, it garnered thousands of likes and dozens of comments. One admitted: “I’ve got quite a few coins.”

While another gushed: “Love your videos mate, so much information.” And a third added: “Come and take it.” So what’s stopping you from checking your coin collection now?
