A horror New York City shooting has left three people dead and eight injured after “multiple gunmen” opened fire in a restaurant.

Police and ambulances rushed to the Taste of the City Lounge at around 3.30am in the Crown Heights area of Brooklyn on Sunday morning. The victims were identified as three men, aged 27, 35, and one whose age is unknown while the other eight casualties were rushed to local hospitals.

No arrests have been made with the suspects reportedly still on the run the the major US city.

Witnesses have reoprted a huge police presence in the Crown Heights area following the shocking incident.

Locals on social media said a cordon had been put in place and “crime tape stretched for blocks”.

Three pronounced dead at the scene

Cops confirmed the three people killed in the fatal shooting were pronounced dead at the scene.

Although police arrived to the restaurant just minites after the shooting, they could not save the victims.

Eight others were rushed to hospital with what the NYPD described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Gunmen opened fire inside the Taste of the City Lounge on 903 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

The restaurant serves American and Caribbean food and has a full bar, sisha, and DJs.

Condition of casualties currently unknown

The eight injured were quickly rushed to local hospitals following the shooting.

The state of these people has not been confirmed but none are reportedly in a life-threatening condition.

NYPD chief calls shooting ‘terrible’ but an ‘anomaly’

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said this horror incident was an anomaly amid the cities falling crime stats.

She said: “We have the lowest number of shooting incidents and shooting victims seven months into the year we’ve seen on record in the city of New York.

“Something like this is, of course, thank god, an anomaly and it’s a terrible thing that’s happened this morning.”

The firearm was found near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway, according to abc7.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch told a news conference that multiple shooters hit up the restaurant in the early hours of the morning.

She added that investigations were ongoing and nobody was in custody.

Tisch added: “It’s a terrible thing that happened this morning and we’re going to investigate to determine what went down.”

Public warned to stay away from crime scene

The NYPD has warned residents to stay away from the horror shooting site as officers investigate the incident.

Police were seen inside the restaurant after the shooting and outside looking through CCTV to piece together what happened.

No arrests have been made following the deadly attack and the perpetrators are feared to be at large.
