Sophia Hutchins, the manager and close friend of Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, Caitlyn Jenner, has died at the age of 29 after a tragic ATV accident near Jenner’s Malibu home

Caitlyn Jenner burst into tears as she spoke of the tragic death of her close friend, Sophia Hutchins. The long-term manager and close companion of the Keeping Up With The Kardashian star, 75, sadly died on Wednesday at the age of 29 following a devastating ATV collision close to Jenner’s Malibu property.

Officials confirmed the fatal incident took place in the early hours of July 2 when Hutchins’ car struck a moving vehicle on a twisting section of road overlooking the Pacific Coast. The collision reportedly launched the star’s ATV beyond the road’s boundary, causing both it and Hutchins to tumble down a sheer cliff face. Emergency responders reached the scene swiftly, but declared Hutchins deceased upon arrival.

Speaking on Fox News At Night, Caitlyn was in tears as she revealed the grief has overwhelmed her. “Recently my good friend Sophia passed away in a tragic accident. But for the last seven weeks, I’ve been dealing with death, and it’s so difficult,” she said.

She opened up about her personal journey before speaking about the shooting at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.

“Here I am dealing with my grief, and I just can’t even imagine parents who dropped their kid off at school and, like that father just said, ‘I’ll never get a chance to talk to him again.’ That is just so horrible,” the star explained.

“I’ve been dealing with grief, and these people have a long road ahead of them, and they’re going to be dealing with grief.”

Fletcher Merkel, aged 8 and a young girl aged 10, died after Robin Westman, 23, opened fire during a church mass at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning, before turning the gun on himself. Seventeen people, including 14 children between the ages of 6 and 15, and three parishioners in their 80s, were injured in the attack.

Hutchins, also a transgender woman, established a friendship with Jenner soon after the Olympic legend publicly revealed her identity in 2015.

She frequently referred to the reality star as a beacon of hope throughout her own gender transition while studying at Pepperdine University in Malibu.

In 2017, Hutchins relocated to Jenner’s £2.8 million Malibu residence and subsequently assumed control of Jenner’s professional affairs, replacing the role of Jenner’s former spouse, Kris Jenner.

In a previous conversation with The New York Times, Hutchins shut down rumours regarding her relationship with Caitlyn, insisting: “We were never romantically involved.”

Hutchins was most recently spotted alongside Jenner in April 2024, accompanying her to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington. Hutchins was a passionate advocate for President Donald Trump and the MAGA campaign and used her platform to whenever she could.

In a viral social media upload from the previous year, she appeared alongside Trump before an American flag, writing: “The energy, passion, and commitment for our movement to Save America has never been greater! We will never give up.”

Although she kept a relatively low profile in recent months, Hutchins continued to be an influential voice within conservative communities and LGBTQ+ campaigning.
