Carlo Ancelotti returned to Real Madrid for a second spell in 2021 but the highly-rated Italian is poised to depart in the coming weeks amid interest from the Brazil national team
Carlo Ancelotti will become the new head coach of Brazil, it has been claimed. Speculation over the Real Madrid boss’ future has reached a crescendo after the Spanish giants’ recent exit from the Champions League at the hands of Arsenal.
Ancelotti, 65, is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest coaches and has enjoyed success since returning to the Bernabeu for a second spell. But with Los Blancos out of Europe and behind Barcelona in La Liga, it’s been a less than stellar campaign for Ancelotti and last year’s Champions League winners.
The Italian was coy when he was recently quizzed on reports that he was planning to leave the Bernabeu before the FIFA Club World Cup tournament in June.
However, it has now been claimed that Ancelotti WILL leave his post with Real Madrid imminently in order to become the new manager of the Brazil national team.

Ancelotti has always been the Brazilian Football Federation’s (CBF) preferred choice to replace Dorival Junior. And Brazilian businessman Diego Fernandes – who has been working on behalf of the CBF in their pursuit of Ancelotti – was seen in attendance on for Real Madrid’s defeat against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday.
The CBF wanted to appointed Ancelotti last summer ahead of the Copa America, only for the veteran to stay put in Madrid. But an agreement has now been reached, per reports from Europe.

Real Madrid will likely have plans in place to coincide with Ancelotti’s departure. They were heavily linked with their former midfielder, Xabi Alonso, last season as the former Spain international led Bayer Leverkusen to a first ever German title.
Although a subsequent move to the Bernabeu failed to materialise, Alonso’s name has once again been touted as a future Los Blancos manager. He has also given little away over his future in recent weeks, while the agent of former Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, recently show down suggestions that his client could be enticed into a return to club management.
Klopp joined Red Bull as the group’s new Global Head of Football back in January, just over half a year after walking away from his post at Anfield.
