King Charles was seen waving to crowds as he left Clarence House in London today to head to Buckingham Palace – just hours after it emerged he would not be having a reunion with Prince Harry during his trip to London
A cheery King Charles has been seen waving to crowds just hours after it emerged he would not be meeting up with Prince Harry during his stay in London.
The monarch was seen in his car leaving Clarence House this morning. Yesterday, his estranged son Harry arrived in the UK for several commitments relating to his Invictus Games, including a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral later today. During his visit to Britain, it had been thought he could meet with his father, with whom he has a rocky bond, but it seems it is not possible.
A spokesman for the Duke said yesterday: “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
