Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Randal Kolo Muani after it emerged that Nicolas Jackson could leave the club this summer. PSG spent £76million to sign Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, but he has struggled for regular game time.

The 26-year-old has made just 23 starts for PSG in all competitions and was sent out on loan to Juventus in the January transfer window, where he netted eight goals in 16 Serie A appearances.

Juventus are keen to keep Kolo Muani and he has remained with them for the Club World Cup, netting a brace in their 5-0 win over Al-Ain on Thursday, but L’Equipe are now reporting that Chelsea have ‘entered into negotiations’ for the forward.

Chelsea have already signed one striker this summer, spending £30m to bring in Liam Delap from Ipswich, and remain keen on adding another goalscorer. News of their interest in Kolo Muani comes after reports from Italy claimed the Blues are considering selling Jackson.

The striker has frustrated Chelsea fans at times during his two years at Stamford Bridge and it has been claimed that the Blues no longer consider him ‘untouchable’. According to Gianlucadimarzio, both Juventus and Napoli are interested in Jackson.

In his last four appearances for Chelsea, Jackson has been sent off against Newcastle, scored in the Europa Conference League final win, assisted Pedro Neto at the Club World Cup and been sent off against Flamengo.

Jackson was shown a straight red card for a poor challenge on Flamengo’s Lucas just four minutes after being introduced by Enzo Maresca. And former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel laid into Jackson over the incident while working as a pundit for DAZN.

“Unbelievable. Stupid, stupid, stupid mistake,” Mikel fumed. “I don’t know what was going through his head. Your team needs you and he does that! He did that at Newcastle in an important game.

“He got a red card. And now he’s done this again. You can’t keep making mistakes like this. I don’t care what his frustration is. This is a massive football club and it’s about competition. If you’re angry or p****d off, then you have to embrace it.

“We need competition. Jackson needs to have a word with himself, where do you want to go with your Chelsea career?”
