Chris Hughes was ever the proud partner as he watched JoJo Siwa’s London concert on Monday night, smiling and waving to the singer as he gushed over her performance.
Chris Hughes looked proud as punch as he joined JoJo Siwa’s mum, Jessalynn, to watch the singer’s concert at Colours Hoxton on Monday night.
“The was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen,” he told fans after the show had wrapped up, smiling for selfies as the crowd circled him. During the show, Chris, 32, filmed JoJo singing while also dancing along to her tracks from inside the DJ booth, where he laughed along with her mum.
And she wasn’t afraid to point out he was there, even serenading him with one song as she covered Kim Carnes’ Bette Davis Eyes, but changed the words to “Chris Hughes’ eyes” and smiled over to him.
After serenading him and smiling over, 22-year-old JoJo said she had to ‘compose herself’ and couldn’t perform feeling so giddy.
Describing Chris as ‘someone special’, JoJo even came on stage in a bedazzled Sunderland football top, an ode to the former Love Island star’s team.
“This is for somebody special who’s here tonight,” said JoJo as she ran off stage to change into the top. Coming back out, she continued, “Over the last few weeks since coming out of big brother, actually in big brother too, I’ve learned a lot about Sunderland. Are you guys Sunderland fans?”
After being met with a flurry of booing, JoJo laughed and looked over to Chris, continuing, “Christopher, you’re letting me get booed up here? You guys might not like it, but he does so let’s pretend”.
During the concert, which saw a packed crowd all go wild for JoJo and even chant Chris’ name, the former Dance Moms star admitted she felt ‘at home’ in the UK.
“I want to say a massive thank you, not only for coming tonight, but for welcoming me into this country with open arms.
“I’ve been feeling a little weird today and I haven’t spoken to anybody about it. I’m going to speak to you. I haven’t felt completely like JoJo today. It’s a good thing, something about being here, I feel a bit like Joelle,” she told the crowd.
JoJo continued: “I feel happy as Joelle, normally I perform and I’m happy as JoJo but Joelle is going through something. But I feel happy.”
She went on to say that the last two months since exiting the Celebrity Big Brother house have been the “best of my life”, shouting to the crowd: “Thank god for Big Brother!”
JoJo and Chris struck up a close bond in the Celebrity Big Brother house back in April, with many fans speculating over whether they could be more than friends after watching them become tactile on the show. JoJo went onto split from her partner Kath Ebbs at the Celebrity Big Brother final’s afterparty, which Kath announced on social media the day after.
In recent weeks, Chris and JoJo spent the pop star’s birthday together in Mexico, with JoJo gushing about her new boyfriend in a social media post. “My heart is smiling so big with tears in my eyes,” she wrote alongside a complication video. “This birthday week is one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I can’t quite put it into words… the best I can say is it’s been the most magical week of my life, truly the way it feels.”
The pair were later spotted kissing in Mexico and after Chris returned to the UK, the couple reunited at Heathrow Airport this weekend, with Chris surprising JoJo with a bouquet of red roses.
