A chilling declassified CIA file has described an encounter between Soviet troops and aliens from a flying saucer who turned the soldiers “to stone”.

The report claimed the soldiers were in Siberia on a training mission when the bizarre encounter unfolded. The report, initially from the KGB, claimed a “low-flying spaceship” buzzed overhead and one of the soldiers fired a surface to air missile, which struck the alien craft and sent it crashing to the ground. Five beings are then said to have crawled from the wreckage and “merged into a single object” before firing on the men – turning 23 of the 25 strong troupe to stone.

The declassified report from the CIA

The classified report reads: “It is stated in the testimony of the two soldiers who remained alive that after freeing themselves from the debris, the aliens came close together and merged into a single object…that began to buzz and hiss.

“[It then] became brilliantly white. In a few seconds the sphere grew much bigger and exploded. At that very instant 23 soldiers who had watched the phenomenon turned to stone poles. Two soldiers standing in the shade and were less exposed to the luminous explosion survived.

“The KGB report goes on to say the remains of the UFO and the “petrified soldiers” were transferred to a secret scientific research institution near Moscow. Specialists assume a source of energy unknown to earthlings instantly changed the structure of the soldiers’ living organisms.”

The CIA document was declassified in 2000 and has remained a source of interest for UFO believers. The report added a “CIA representative” said: “If the KGB file corresponds to reality, this is an extremely menacing case. The aliens possess such weapons and technology that go beyond all our assumptions.

“They can stand up for themselves if attacked.”

In a more up to date incident, a suspected UFO was seen soaring above a city in Colombia before darting back and forth in a zig-zag motion at the weekend. The sighting took place in the morning when the skies were otherwise clear and quiet.

“In footage taken by the man, the object was seen sharply zig-zagging through the air in a motion which defies typical aircraft movement. The clip quickly began circulating online , drawing attention from intrigued viewers, who were also left unsettled by the object’s unpredictable behaviour.

The unnamed witness was recording on his camera and enjoying the early morning quiet before the unidentified object appeared and began changing direction with sudden, precise shifts.
