A group of cleaning fans have shared their tips and tricks for getting rid of stains from their oven racks, which could cost you as little as 9p a go to try yourself
A team of cleaning gurus have revealed their savvy methods for removing stubborn stains from oven racks – which could cost you as little as 9p to try at home.
A question was posted in the Mrs Hinch Fans Facebook group by a member seeking advice on how to clean an oven, particularly the oven racks. The dirt and stains on an oven rack can be incredibly tough to remove, prompting the individual to seek advice from the wider community of cleaning enthusiasts.
In their post, they wrote: “Hey guys, new to the group, I’m renting a house and the racks in the oven must have years of cooked-on grease. I’ve tried the Pink Stuff, Cif, vinegar and baking soda, and lemon juice and washing up liquid, and washing powder and bleach and Oven Brite and I just can’t get anything to get it off.”
The community quickly chimed in, many offering the same piece of advice that could be the solution you need to make your oven racks sparkle again. One person suggested: “Soak in the bath with a dishwasher tablet.”
Another echoed this, saying: “Soak your shelves in the bath with dishwasher tablets! Amazing!” A third person shared: “Have you tried a dishwasher tablet rubbed on neat then put in bath with a few more to soak overnight?”
Additionally, another participant elaborated on the thrifty trick: “Put them into a giant tub or the bath. Run the hot water and add in four dishwasher tablets. Leave them for about four hours, and then check them. They will come up with a scrubber like brand new.”
This nifty tip might only set you back about 9p per use. You can grab the 30 All-in-One Original Dishwasher Tablets from ASDA at a mere £2.65, breaking down to just under 9p per tablet, letting you spruce up your oven on the cheap and have it shining anew.
