Love Island fans were in hysterics after Cole Palmer’s reference when commenting on England teammate Declan Rice’s victory post for their Euro 2024 win over Switzerland
Cole Palmer couldn’t help but get a Love Island comment in as Declan Rice celebrated a famous England win on Sunday in Euro 2024.
The duo both played an integral part in helping Gareth Southgate’s men reach another semi final after a nail biting win over Switzerland in Dusseldorf, Germany.
In the immediate aftermath of the penalty shootout victory, Arsenal midfielder Rice took to Instagram to share his delight. Alongside an image of himself, Ivan Toney and Jude Bellingham rushing to cheer the winning spot kick by Trent Alexander Arnold, Rice gushed: “Togetherness. Semis we coming!!!”
Thousands of fans were quick to react to the post and send celebratory messages, but teammate Cole Palmer – who netted a vital spot kick in the shootout – left a hilarious Love Island reference, much to the delight of the show’s viewers.
In the comments section, Chelsea star Palmer joked: “WHOS EMMAAAAAAAAA,” with the comment already receiving over seven thousand likes. Some users also commented on the response, with one simply sending a string of crying with laughter emojis.
Another wrote: “Jokes,” alongside the hashtag #iykyk and symbols to reference Love Island, while a third couldn’t believe the reply and gasped: “No way,” with crying face emojis.
Others took to Twitter/X to share their love for Palmer’s comment, with the midfielder clearly winning off the pitch as much as he is on.
The comment refers to Nicole’s gobsmacked reaction when she heard Casa Amor girl Emma Milton, 30, had kissed flame Ciaran in a challenge. Emma went on to find a connection with Konnor Ewudzi, who was luckily in a friendship couple when he went into one of the most testing sections of the show.
The fashion content creator from Manchester was once romantically linked with fellow contestant Joey Essex and now finds herself in the main villa following her coupling with Konnor.
