He was the second actor to take on the part of Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street when he joined the ITV soap in 1997 and it was a role Adam Rickitt was to make his own.
Quickly securing heartthrob status among fans of the show, the star went on to forge a pop career, which often saw him shirtless and flexing his muscles. He returned to acting after his foray into music and starred in a number of other successful soaps.
These days the 47 year old, who was recently left devastated at the tragic death of his mother, enjoys a settled life with his wife and their two dogs.
