You never need to worry about dusting the top of your kitchen cupboards again with this incredibly easy to implement life hack that will save you time and energy
There are certain places in every home that simply do not get the regular TLC they deserve.
During your busy week of work, daily tasks, and taking care of your family, some jobs just slip off the radar so easily – and cleaning the top of your cupboards is likely to be one. Only the most house proud out there make this cleaning task a regular part of their routine, and for the most part, people generally neglect to dust the top of their cupboards on a regular basis.
Even though it’s understandable a job like this can be neglected. And if you don’t do it that often then when you get round to it, it can be pretty labour intensive.
First of all, most people have to climb up on a step ladder or a nearby chair to reach the tops of their cupboards, and then you might be greeted with a thick layer of dust that’s going to take a bit of elbow grease and a few dusters to rid yourself of. However, all of this can change simply by incorporating this seriously easy-to-implement life hack, posted by a content creator on TikTok.
Content creator Jessica May posted this hack on her account – @jessicamay_home – which boasts over 270,000 followers, and sees the single mum revolutionise her viewers’ lives with her game-changing cleaning tips. Her top tip to minimise the effort of dusting the top of your cupboards is so simple, and the video has wracked up thousands of likes.
When it comes to this life hack, you will first want to ensure you have given the tops of your cupboards a thorough clean, to ensure it’s fully prepared for the next step that will save you so much effort in the future.
All you have to do next is grab a newspaper that you’ve finished reading – might we suggest picking up a copy of the Daily Mirror for less than the cost of a cup of coffee – and simply lay it in single sheets on the top of your cupboards. “Line the tops of your cupboards with newspaper,” Jessica explains in the video, “This is a great way to collect any dust and build-up of kitchen dirt.”
You will want to swap these out on a relatively regular basis, so that the dust doesn’t collect too long – which can be a cause of allergies and asthma in the home, per the NHS. You won’t need to do any hard work to remove the dust and grime with this hack, however, so it’s well worth incorporating into your home.
