Police Scotland is investigating a report that a woman was threatened by a man on an e-bike, as well as verbally assaulted, in Edinburgh’s Wardieburn Place West area on Friday

A Scots dad is warning others in Edinburgh after his partner was physically and verbally “threatened by a man on an e-bike” while pushing their baby in a pram.

Kai Liam’s girlfriend was on Wardieburn Place West at around 5.15pm on Friday, October 10, when a man approached her.

Chilling footage shows the man slowly cycling on the road, staring at a mum pushing a pram along the pavement. The woman instinctively backs the pram onto the small area outside a shop or home, disappearing from CCTV view, while the man follows her right up to that spot, pointing his finger and appearing to speak in a threatening manner.

Police Scotland said they received reports of threatening behaviour and that enquiries are “ongoing”.

Kai said he wants to warn others about his partner’s experience in case the man approaches other women. He told Edinburgh Live: “My girlfriend was coming back from the shops when a male was following her on a e-bike threatening to stab her and threatening my child who was in the pram.

“He was following her down the street when he threatened to stab her, got really close to her throwing out threats and circling the street. All whilst my five-month-old baby was in his pram crying his eyes out.

“I just want to spread the message in case he approaches another female. There was another female with a pram who he approached first, but she walked away.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.15pm on Friday, 10 October, 2025, police received a report of threatening behaviour in the Wardieburn Place West area of Edinburgh.”
