A baby girl and her father tragically died in a horror road accident as the mum and son are fighting for their lives.

The family-of-four had just moved from North Wales to Poland and were in the vehicle together when it crashed into a tree. The mother and young son remain in a serious condition in Poland following the fatal collision. The crash happened at around 10am on Thursday morning near the northeastern Polish city of Olsztyn. The crash killed dad Krzysztof, 30, and his baby daughter Natalka.

The young family are believed to have lived in Connah’s Quay, in the Flintshire area of Wales, and were involved in the horror crash just days after arriving back in Poland.

North Wales Live reports Anna Buckley, from the Polish Integration Support Centre (PISC) in Wrexham, confirmed the tragic news. She said: “With deepest sorrow, we share the tragic news of the passing of Krzysztof (30) and his baby daughter Natalka, who lost their lives in a terrible car accident in Poland.

“This is a Polish family who had just returned to Poland from Flintshire. Fighting for their lives are the 29-year-old mother Justyna and three-year-old son.”

An online fundraiser has been set up to help with funeral costs for the young girl who sadly died. The appeal, which was set up by a Polish support group, has raised more than £1,000.

Anna added: “At PISC, just a week ago we supported this family with formalities, passports, and transportation back to Poland from the UK. Today, this family needs help more than ever.

“This fundraiser is dedicated to covering the funeral of little Natalka, as well as potential rehabilitation and psychological support [for the son and mum], should they survive. We kindly ask for your prayers and any financial support you can offer.”

Buckley said she was asked, in her role as the Director of the UK-based Polish Integration Support Centre (PISC), to assist with the return of a Polish family – Krzystof Lewandowski and Justyna Petryszyn and their two children – to their home country.

She said: “I helped to obtain a passport for 2-month-old Natalka from the Polish Consulate, as her mother very much wished to return to Poland. It was a very difficult time for her, as she felt alone after giving birth.

“A PISC volunteer Marcin kindly agreed to act as the family’s driver and accompanied them on their journey from Flintshire to Poland, for which I am very grateful. The family returned to Poland last week.

“Tragically, yesterday I received a phone call from the family with devastating news. Little Natalka and Krzysztof have passed away. The car in which the four-member family was travelling crashed into a tree. Justyna, a 29-year-old mother, and her 3-year-old son were taken to hospital, where they are now fighting for their lives. The impact was so severe that when the firefighters arrived, she was already outside of the vehicle.”

Ms Buckley added: “This is an unimaginable tragedy. The only thing we can now do for the grandfather is to help him lay his 2-month-old granddaughter to rest by supporting the funeral costs.”
