Danny Jones’ wife Georgia is said to have ‘moved out’ of their family home in the wake of his drunken kiss with reality star Maura Higgins earlier this month
Danny Jones and his wife are said to be “working through” their issues following his drunken kiss with Maura Higgins after the BRIT Awards earlier this month. The McFly singer was seen kissing his I’m A Celebrity co-star on March 1 as they attended a glitzy after party following the awards.
The 38-year-old was all smiles as he and the 34-year-old Love Island star attended the Universal Music party and were spotted locking lips with one another in direct view of other party goers. Sources at the time claimed the pair were “having a great time” and had struck up a close friendship after meeting in the Australian jungle.
But the pair later headed to another after party and were said to be sat downing wine with one another until 6am before leaving the party together. Now, two weeks later, it’s claimed that Danny’s wife Georgia has “moved out” of their family home and told those closest to her that she won’t be a “pushover.”
Sources claim that the whole ordeal has been “embarrassing” for Georgia, who married Danny in 2014. They added that the model had felt “uneasy” after she and her husband were seen going for a walk around a park in Richmond just days after the news of his kiss scandal broke.
“Danny and Georgia may still be married but they’re not together and she is working out what she wants to do,” a source told The Sun. They went on to add: “She has been hugely hurt and embarrassed by everything and told Danny she needed to get away. She has been staying with her friend Rose since Wednesday.”
Elsewhere, the insider went on to say that Georgia and Danny are “still talking” about how they can move forward with their marriage in wake of the scandal. “Georgia is still married to Danny and wearing her wedding rings but they’re not together at the moment and are having time apart,” they added.
It comes just days after Danny issued a grovelling apology to his wife and family with a short statement via his Instagram Stories. He said: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.
“I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.” A source close to Danny told the Mirror: “Danny has been mortified about whats happened and the awful situation he has put everyone in.
“He cares so deeply about his family and hopes his words will draw a line under what has been a deeply upsetting time, for everyone. Georgia and his son are absolutely everything to him. Throughout all this, he has been so thankful for the support of his fans. He just wants to move on, and heal in private.”
