In recent years, it seems that King Charles has grown closer and closer to David Beckham, with their pair striking up a very unlikely friendship – and could it be they are now morphing into one another?

He’s the East End lad turned England captain who’s struck up an unlikely friendship with King Charles. And could it be that David Beckham has encouraged his close bond with the King to blossom – possibly increasing his chances of an elusive knighthood – by dressing and even acting like him?

Pictures from their recent encounters show the footballing superstar almost mirroring Charles when it comes to his fashion choices, opting to wear double-breasted jackets – a staple of the King’s wardrobe.

And body language expert Judi James says it’s not just their clothes that are now matching – so are their mannerisms. She told the Mirror: “The phrase ‘Bend it like Beckham’ could now apply to his body language and style rather than just his football skills as he turns himself into the closest, most matching friend the King never knew that he had.”

“Conscious, deliberate mirroring can suggest an effort to engage, bond and ingratiate and there is a sense with Beckham’s flexibility of style here that suggests a very strong desire to move in royal circles.”
