As many households steer away from turning up the thermostat to avoid high bills, this popular Dyson fan is reduced by £100 in the sale

Along with the chilly weather, UK households are grappling with the contemplation of turning up their thermostats. While the likelihood of getting a much higher heating bill puts many off, Dyson has a solution with its heater that only costs 50p to run.

The pennies-per-hour cost can be found on the Dyson AM09 Hot + Cool fan, which, according to the Sus-it energy calculator, only costs 49p per hour to use. Continuing our money-saving theme, we’ve found where to cut the price.

Debenhams is rivalling Dyson’s own sale by matching its £100 price cut on the model, as it’s reduced from £399 to £299. As shoppers rate its ‘good supply of heat” both sites are selling quickly – with 100 Debenhams shoppers adding it to their basket and clicking ‘checkout’ in the past 24-hours.

Unlike a typical heater – sitting in front of a physical flame – all the heating elements of the Dyson AM09 are discreet and hidden, with its bladeless design. A feature which also makes it look modern popped in the corner of living rooms, bedrooms, and even the kitchen.

This does, however, account for its higher-than-average upfront price and despite having rave reviews it could be out of budget for a lot of shoppers. If that’s the case, this Russell Hobbs model – now £24 at Very – could be a simple option if you don’t mind the basic look.

The Jet Focus model is designed to be used all year with a mode that gives a room ‘a good supply of heat’ and refreshing cool setting for the muggy summer months. “Dual purpose heats effectively & efficiently in winter & cools in summer, what more could you ask for”, highlighted one shopper.

While another recent shopper highlighted a selling point compared to rival models: “The AM09 fan is SILENT compared to fan blade heaters. The overall build quality, performance and features are exceptionally good.” Vortex is another brand that offers bladeless heaters, and available to buy on Amazon for £169.99

Rating it four out of five stars, one shopper said they liked it but did raise a performance issue: “Great piece of kit I would given 5 stars if it had the function to be programmed to switch on at a given time”, as they would have liked a timer feature.
