For those that might be nearing the end of their broadband contract or have already finished their contracts, it might be cheaper and more cost effective to look elsewhere.

And one provider shoppers might want to look at is Sky as it has lowered its broadband prices across the board. It comes as it continues to compete with other providers which have become far cheaper.

The top pick we would look at is the £30 a month 500mb broadband package that is perfect for big families who are always streaming or downloading games. There’s no upfront fees with the package and it comes with a super-speedy router so it can reach across the home.

It has also cut the price of its 300 MB broadband package to £26 a month. However, we would suggest going for the 500 MB package as it provides faster speeds. One thing to consider is that these are 24-month contracts, so make sure internet dealhunters are happy to lock in.

Another thing to note is that it’s normally more cost-effective to get a TV and broadband deal from Sky so for those in the market for a new TV deal as well, it’s worth exploring.

Sky is one of the more available broadband providers around the country; however, shoppers should look elsewhere if they want a good deal. For those based in London, we highly suggest checking out Community Fibre, which has very cheap broadband packages and offering free broadband for six months.

Sky is trying to compete with other broadband providers by dropping its prices. Shoppers can now get 500mb download speeds for £30 a month.

PlusNet is also offering shoppers a free £100 reward card with its broadband packages, with prices starting from £24.99 a month. There’s also Vodafone, which has competitive broadband deals for most people around the country, and Vodafone will pay up to £100 to cover cancellation fees.

There have been great reviews about Sky, especially when it comes to the broadband. One reviewer said: “Internet is so much faster but I am seriously so chuffed with the Sky Rewards thing, we’ve had free tickets to Legoland and we won tickets to see Slayer! I couldn’t believe it, very very pleased.”

Another reviewer said: “I have been with Sky over 11 years. They have always treated me like a friend, giving me amazing deals on my broadband and TV. Always understanding if I can’t afford to make a payment one month, they work something out. would highly recommend.”

However, some customers aren’t happy, especially with customer service. One reviewer said: “After being a customer for 9 years, I have to say the quality of broadband and TV service is good, very reliable even on fibre when there are many devices connected.

“The only bad thing is that customer service takes too long and is not very helpful. But overall, they are a good company; stay loyal, and they give lots of deals.”
