The breakfast is a great idea if you are fed up of options like toast or cereal

A doctor has shared a breakfast that’s full of good ingredients – and it won’t cost you much at all. Taking to TikTok, Dr Joseph Salhab also known as @thestomachdoc said that he had to try the breakfast for himself and urged others to try it too.

Grabbing two Kiwi fruits, some limes and some Greek yoghurt, the health guru explained how he makes it. “So when I slice the kiwi fruit, I leave the skin on for extra fibre, but you can’t leave the skin off if you don’t like it.”

After he slices the kiwi and places a dollop of yogurt on top, he squeezes the lime and adds honey for sweetness. “I have never had it like this, and I added some flavoured Greek yoghurt with probiotics in the middle.”

Eating the mouth watering brekkie, he says: “Everything goes well together Kiwis are just one of those things that I love eating in the morning. You can try to start off with two [kiwi] and if you don’t like it, there are other things you can try like apples, pears and dragon fruit.”

In the video the doctor mentions leaving the skin on. The reason for this is that due to their high fibre contents, it helps to support a “healthy gut, as it feeds the good bacteria and also help good digestion,” explains Holland & Barrett.

They further add that the fruit’s skin also rich in antioxidants stating that it “rids the body of free radicals – unpaired electrons that damage the body and its cells, which can lead to cancer.

“Two well-known antioxidants are vitamin C and vitamin E, and kiwis are loaded with them” with the skin being the place with the highest levels.

Furthermore, the high amounts of vitamin E can help have an anti-ageing effect on skin. If you are put off by the hairs, simply grab a “clean towel, a vegetable brush, or a spoon to lightly scrape it off”, the health experts recommend.
