Donald Trump has been labelled “depressed” and “inconsolable” after videos of his birthday parade were shared on social media. The president celebrated his 79th birthday on Saturday (June 14), which also marked the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, with a whopping $45 million spent on a military parade.

In Washington DC, Trump, alongside his wife Melania, was seen amidst what seemed to be a thin crowd, despite expectations of over 200,000 jubilant supporters. A TikTok video posted by Harry Sisson described Trump as “incredibly depressed” due to the low turnout. The footage showed both Trump and Melania observing the parade, with the former visibly frowning and seemingly struggling to stay awake.

It prompted Harry to state in his clip: “He truly looks inconsolable,” adding that Trump was disheartened because “nobody turned up for his birthday, and it rained all day – while millions of Americans were protesting against him.”

The same day saw ‘No Kings’ protests across major US cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City, where demonstrators voiced their opposition to the parade, criticising it as an unnecessary use of taxpayers’ money.

An estimated four to six million individuals participated in these rallies, with celebrities such as Susan Sarandon, Mark Ruffalo, Jimmy Kimmel, and Gracie Abrams spotted among the various crowds.

Responding to Harry’s video on TikTok, one user quipped in a style reminiscent of Trump: “It was a great failure. Some say it might have been the greatest failure. Like no failure anyone has ever seen.”

Another individual remarked: “He was expecting the same type of parades you see from Moscow and North Korea – his was a sad, sad parade – that’s for sure.”

A third disparaged: “Taco Trump has brought a disgrace to the military. A very weak parade, frustrated and unhappy scattered crowds… Waste of resources.”

Whilst a fourth TikTok user declared: “The mockery he’ll receive from Russian state media and North Korea will be laughable. The money spent on this authoritarian-style parade could have been better allocated to support military families, as well as the often overlooked housing and medical care needs of our veterans.”

Over on X there was a similar narrative, meanwhile, as political commentator Adam Schwarz shared footage of the event with the caption: “Trump looking absolutely inconsolable at his fascist-themed 79th birthday party which no one turned up to other than those who had to because he’s their boss.”

Adam additionally scorned: “When you spend $45 million of other people’s money on your dictator chic birthday and it’s still worse than a roadside Taco Bell value-package party.

“You would think a party and a parade honouring the military would be a fun event yet none of those look happy in the slightest,” one X user observed in response.

Whilst a second person added: “It seems he expected a million screaming fans, screaming his name and getting in ecstasy. However, he became a lonely, saddened old man with no friends, even his wife holds him in scorn and disdain.”
