Social media users have been left saying ‘no thanks’ after a travel influence shared a video clip of a stunning hotel room in the Maldives

The Maldives is a bucket list location for many people, but trips to these islands can cost upwards of £1,000. One person lucky enough to jet off to the Maldives for a recent holiday was travel influencer Jordan Egbert, who posts on Instagram as @counting.countries.

Jordan is aiming to travel to every country in the world, having already made it to 142 out of 196. During his recent stay in the Maldives, Jordan and his family stayed at the stunning Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort. This resort is home to a rather unique room, and it’s this room that left many of Jordan’s followers commenting ‘no thanks.’

Sharing a video of the hotel’s stunning underwater room, he wrote: “Would you sleep in an underwater hotel room? This is the first and most expensive underwater room at the @conrad_maldives

“The room is insane with tons of fish, even sharks, swimming around at different times of the day. It is definitely one of the most unique rooms I have ever seen!”

In a follow-up post after the holiday, Jordan shared a video reviewing the holiday and hotel, which he captioned: “A hotel with an underwater room? Sign me up!! I have been dreaming of visiting this hotel for years and we finally made it happen. Let me say it lives up to the hype!

“The food is fantastic, there is so much to do at the property and I enjoyed just relaxing by the beach and snorkeling @conrad_maldives is a must visit hotel.”

Social media users were quick to share their thoughts on the underwater rooms, one said: “Ocean anxiety … no ways i can even sit there for 2 mins.”

Another said: “I got anxiety just watching and thinking of it breaking or collapsing.” While a third said: “I don’t need fish watching me or even people as they scuba dive by. I saw someone swimming so it’s not deep enough to keep curious people away.”

A fourth person added: “Two seconds into the video I whispered ‘no’ out loud.” Another added: “Nope! You can keep it. I just had a panic attack watching this video.”
