This Friday’s EuroMillions draw marks the biggest lottery jackpot ever, with a lucky winner facing becoming twice as rich as Sir Andy Murray, and three times richer than Harry Kane
One lucky ticket-holder could bag the biggest lottery win ever and join the ‘super rich’ if they scoop the top prize in Friday’s EuroMillions draw.
The jackpot is an estimated £202million and would be the largest prize in lotto history, operator Allwyn said. The potential Friday night winner would top the ranks of the biggest EuroMillions wins by UK players, including the anonymous UK ticket-holder who scooped the existing record jackpot of £195 million on July 19 2022.
But a single ticket win instantly would make the lottery millionaire one of the richest people in the UK. They would join the ranks of the super rich overnight, with a fortune to rival some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment.

It would make them twice as rich as Sir Andy Murray (£100m), three times richer than Harry Kane (£75m) and considerably richer than pop star Adele (£175m). They would come in not far short of golfer Rory McIlroy, one of the richest young Brits on £225m, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, won a then record-breaking £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket for the draw on May 10 2022. The UK’s third biggest win came after an anonymous ticket-holder scooped the £177m jackpot in the draw on November 26 last year. No-one won the £182m EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday, meaning the top prize rolls over into Friday’s draw.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, said: “This Friday night promises to be a massive one for EuroMillions players, as the country’s biggest ever winner could be made. Get your tickets early as there is an astounding estimated jackpot of £202m up for grabs. A single UK winner of this jaw-dropping prize would be crowned The National Lottery’s biggest winner of all time.”
The UK’s youngest ever lottery winner, Callie Rogers, who was just 16 when she became a millionaire, has warned of winning big too young, however. She called on the Government to raise the age limit for the game after she blew her entire £1.875m jackpot.
Callie, from Cumbria, had just turned 16 when she became an instant millionaire on June 28, 2003, and remains the youngest ever jackpot winner in the main draw. Now 37, she struggled with the fame, and personal attacks.
“I still get abuse because of who I am,” she told the Mirror in 2019. “It comes from people who do not even know me.” She gave almost all of the money away, lavishing hundreds of thousands on family and friends.
Years later, she was still owed at least £200,000 by ‘fake pals’ who borrowed from her.
Michael Carroll, a self-styled ‘King of Chavs’, was 19 when he scooped £9,736,131 in November 2002. The part-time binman, who was wearing an electronic tag when he bought his winning ticket, immediately bought a £340,000 six-bedroom home in Norfolk.
He spent a further £400,000 on lavish home upgrades and £49,000 on a BMW to park in his drive. He most notably invested £1m in Rangers FC shares.
Michael’s wife, Sandra, left him over his incessant party boy lifestyle and took £1.4m from the divorce settlement. By 2010, he had declared bankruptcy.
The UK’s youngest winner of the EuroMillions was Jane Park, of Edinburgh. She was 17 when she scooped a £1 million jackpot in 2013, with the very first ticket she bought to enter the draw.
The EuroMillions is a pan-European lottery, which was launched in 2004 and has two separate draws every Tuesday and Friday.
