Sunny Beach, a popular seaside resort town located on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, has grown to become the largest tourist draw in the country – and it’s cheap too

A stunning European seaside town, known for its expansive sandy beaches and lively nightlife, is so affordable that a pint of beer will only set you back 80p.

Sunny Beach, a bustling seaside resort on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, has become the country’s top tourist hotspot. The resort draws in holidaymakers from across Europe, especially during the balmy summer months.

Not just the beers, but even the hotels are a steal, with rooms going for as little as £10 a night, according to a new documentary series, Emergency on Sunny Beach.

With a range of accommodation options from luxury resorts to budget-friendly digs, Sunny Beach caters to all types of travellers. Besides its beautiful beaches, the town is packed with restaurants, bars, and clubs, perfect for those looking to dive into the vibrant nightlife.

But it’s not all about the beach and parties; Sunny Beach also offers a variety of activities and attractions, including water sports, amusement parks, and cultural trips to nearby towns and historical sites.

Despite being a thriving tourist hub offering something for everyone, Sunny Beach does face challenges. Each year, an additional 40 police officers and 130 lifeguards are brought in to ensure the safety of visitors, reports the Express.

On the programme, a policewoman paints a vivid picture of her nightly encounters, stating: “At night the central part of the resort goes through a change, the clubs open, it’s full of people with loose morals, a lot of drugs and booze.”

She further describes the typical British tourist as having “In my view the usual British tourist looks like this – fair skin, a bit chubby and wearing as little clothing as possible, always very loud and covered in tattoos.”

She adds that: “Compared to other nationalities the British tourists are always very loud and jolly.” Another officer chimes in, saying: “The British people cause the most problems because they can’t drink.”
