Former Manchester United star Andreas Pereira has heaped praise on current boss Marco Silva at Fulham, claiming he is the most organised coach he has played under, after working with Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson. Pereira was an important player for Fulham this season, starting 25 times in the Premier League and helping them finish 11th in the table.

Pereira continued to build on his impressive performances in recent years since leaving United as he registered two goals and four assists in the middle of the park.

He joined United as a 16-year-old in 2011 but found first team opportunities limited. He played just 75 times across four seasons and was loaned out to Granada, Valencia, Lazio and Flamengo before joining Fulham in a permanent move in 2022.

Pereira was at United in the final days of Ferguson and also played under Louis van Gaal, Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

Despite being coached by some of the biggest names in the game, he has been blown away by his manager Silva and hailed his preparedness for games and attention to detail.

“He’s a perfectionist in making the team understand who we’re playing against, the team’s strengths,” Pereira told the Daily Mail. “He prepares our team very well, he organises everything down to the last detail, and that makes it easier for us on game day.

“I think he really has his own style. We have a plan A, a plan B. I think he might be the coach who prepares the team the most that I’ve ever had, even down to the last details of set pieces, even throw-ins, we know what the other team is going to do. So, I think that’s a huge advantage we have.”

Silva’s got Fulham promoted to the Premier League in 2022 before establishing them as a solid top flight side, with three comfortable mid-table finishes.

Pereira praised his attention to detail having worked under some of the best managers in football

He has since been linked with a number of top managerial roles – including Tottenham, Juventus and most recently Al Hilal.

Meanwhile, Pereira has given his take on his old club’s “sad” situation after struggling under boss Ruben Amorim.

He said: “As a fan, from the outside, it’s sad. A big club like that, seeing it the way it is, it’s clearly sad. I’m used to seeing Manchester always as one of the biggest clubs in the world, always fighting at the top, fighting to be champions.

“But they’re going through this phase of renewal, it’s a new coach, now a new owner. So I think they’ll suffer a bit, which is normal. But of course, nobody who truly likes Manchester United wants to see them in this situation.”
