When you’re the designated home chef, it can be hard to keep coming up with new fresh ideas for meals – but one foodie has inspired people to use a £2.20 meat with exciting recipes

Meal inspiration can be tough to find, especially when you’re on a strict budget.

But one foodie has shared some ways to utilise a popular £2.20 meat – and they’re seriously inspiring and bound to get you and your family’s tastebuds tingling. @vj_cooks captioned her video: “I love mince (aka ground beef) it’s easy and affordable to create delicious dinners with!”

In the 54-second clip, that amassed 15.4k likes, she quickly demonstrated all the delicious meals you can make with mince – and to make things even better it costs just £2.20 in Ocado and is currently under a ‘price promise’.

Her recipes were “the most popular” from her website, and she wrote: “I have combined them all into a free recipe ebook to give you some meal planning inspo.”

The meals she recommended trying were:

  • One pot lasagna
  • Lamb and ricotta filo pie
  • Spiced mince and hummus
  • Macaroni casserole
  • Pork lettuce cups
  • Loaded beef nachos
  • Mince potato top pie
  • Thai pork meatball curry
  • Moroccan lamb pies
  • One pot mince and pasta

Each recipe looked deliciously hearty in its own way, and the comments section was flooded with people who were desperate to try the treats.

One person wrote: “I love the one-pot lasagne. Never going to make the traditional way again.” Someone else penned: “I want it all!”

Other comments included: “I want to make all of these, yum”, “These are amazing”, “Yum”, “Needed this”, and “That Thai meatball curry looks delicious!”

If you’re a big fan of strawberries, this one is for you, and it’s set to be the “snack of the summer” according to Skylar Toth on social media. She captioned the video: “Okay I definitely thought these would be overrated but WOW. So good, snack of the summer”, followed by a strawberry emoji.
