“This is everything I love in a perfume – sweet, floral, fresh, fruity, powdery and musky in the dry down. Daisy is and forever will be in my top 5 fragrances. My husband gifted this to me on our anniversary and this has my whole heart. Love this scent.”

Fragrance Direct shoppers can bag a saving on an award-winning designer fragrance while the price is slashed down for summer. Marc Jacob’s Daisy has been a popular option for years and we can see why.

Daisy was first launched in 2007 with master perfumer, Alberto Morillas, on the nose. It’s a floral woody scent aimed at women and even won two awards in 2008: FiFi Award Fragrance Of The Year Women’s Luxe 2008 and FiFi Awards Best Packaging Women’s Prestige 2008.

It opens up quite fresh with notes of Violet Leaf, Blood Grapefruit and Strawberry. The heart dives into a more floral nature with Violet, Gardenia and Jasmine. It’s the base notes that linger the longest and in this case, they’re Musk, White Woods and Vanilla.

The product is bringing in many reviews on the site although they mainly talk about how easy it was to buy or who the perfume was a gift for. Over on Fragrantica, fragrance fans get into what they think of the actual perfume.

One reviewer said: “Daisy by Marc Jacob’s smells like morning dew, sunshine, and a vast, untouched field of daisies that you randomly came across while on a morning walk. Daisy is so classy, timeless, and beautiful. Daisy is a perfume that I envision a young adult wearing. A young adult that wears a lot of eyelet clothing pieces, has a straw tote bag and wears cute little ballet flats.

“Daisy is such a gentle fragrance that cannot be recreated. There are flankers. However, OG Daisy is a one of a kind. It smells youthful, playful, but very mature for her age. Like a young woman that likes to have tea parties with her friends.”

A second penned: “This is everything I love in a perfume – sweet, floral, fresh, fruity, powdery and musky in the dry down. Daisy is and forever will be in my top 5 fragrances. My husband gifted this to me on our anniversary and this has my whole heart. Love this scent.”

A third added: “I wore Daisy a lot in my late teens and early 20s, and when I smell it now, I’m transported back to that time. Youth, innocence, excitement for the warmth of Spring and Summer weather.

“Daisy holds a special place in my heart since it taught me that I like violet notes in fragrance, and even now as I’m in my 30s, I am thinking of buying a new bottle because it is such a classic in my eyes. It’s fresh, but not sharp. Floral, but not cloying. Slightly fruity, but not too sweet. Perfect for every day.”

Some shoppers have complained about the longevity of the perfume but it is worth noting that light florals usually don’t have the strong longevity that you’d find with heavier scents such as spice forward blends. It is also an Eau de Toilette rather than Eau de Parfum which is a lighter scent.

Alternatively, shoppers could try pricier, Chanel’s Chance EDP at £145. You can get Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette from £38.95 on Fragrance Direct, down from £52.
