A police investigation has been launched after a gang of masked thugs holding weapons allegedly chased students near the Ark Kings Academy in Kings Norton, Birmingham

Police have launched an investigation following reports that a gang of masked thugs wielding weapons chased students outside a school earlier this week.

The alleged incident was reported to have happened on Shannon Road in Kings Norton, Birmingham, on Monday afternoon. Reports say it allegedly happened close to Ark Kings Academy, at around 3.40pm, on March 10.

West Midlands Police said they are now checking CCTV and will be looking to speak to witnesses following the incident. The force said no injuries were reported and no arrests have been made so far. Anyone with information has been urged to contact the police.

A police spokeswoman told Birmingham Live: “We’re investigating reports of disorder on Shannon Road, Birmingham, at around 3.40pm on Monday (10 March). A group of students reported being chased by another group who were wearing masks and reportedly carrying weapons.

“No injuries were reported. We are reviewing CCTV and will be speaking to witnesses as our enquiries to identify those involved continue.
