Gary Neville was looking a little worse for wear as he left David Beckham’s boozy 50th birthday bash. The Manchester United legend celebrated his half century at the Michelin-starred restaurant Core in Kensington with his former team-mate clearly enjoying himself.

The Sky Sports pundit was donning a white blazer and was snapped on the streets. He was also pictured giving wife, Emma, a snog. Neville appeared to be several drinks down as he lapped up the attention from the camera.

Neville and Beckham were both part of the Class of 92 at Old Trafford and have been close friends for decades. They played together down United’s right flank for nearly a decade and Neville was best man when the Beckhams tied the knot in Ireland in 1999.

Neville, who turned 50 several months ago, paid a heartfelt tribute to his pal on social media. He wrote: “Happy 50th mate. You’re the best! Stand still today for once and reflect on everything you have achieved and done in these first 50 years of your life.

“We’ve won, lost, laughed and cried but had the most incredible times together. I can still see our mums and dads in the crowd. Everything you’ve done has come through humility, care and hard work. I’m proud of you and more importantly trust you with my life. All my love to you.”

Neville and his wife, who got married in 2007, didn’t have their first date at some lavish Manchester venue, instead Neville wanted to take her to the places that ticked his boxes and see how she felt – with the pair clearly clicking instantly.

He told Great British Life: “Our first date was at the Living Room in Manchester but the real test for me was our second date, taking her to the Wellington pub in Bury for the quiz. It would have been so easy to take her to a fancy restaurant but I wanted to take her to the places I love and see what she thought. And the rest is history.”

Gary Neville and his wife, Emma, were snapped having a kiss

The two have been happily married ever since, even if Emma admitted that her husband’s bedtime took her by surprise. “Going to bed was strange – at half nine,” she said on an appearance on the Stick to Football podcast. “I can’t get my head around how early that is. Now it’s fine but back then I just thought, ‘I can’t do this!’. We would watch a film, and he’d just fall asleep, and I’d get to the end of it.”

Gordon Ramsay, Tom Cruise and Eva Longoria were among the other A-List guests who were seen stumbling out in the early hours of Sunday morning. Eva Longoria, who is close friends with Victoria Beckham, was another big name celebrity to be present.

After making a solo low-key arrival, lookers-on managed a glimpse of Hollywood legend Tom Cruise, 62, and his rumoured girlfriend Ana de Armas, 37, as they were quickly whisked away after the event. Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn snubbed the evening – despite jetting to London with wife Nicola Peltz.
