It’s been a difficult year for Geri Halliwell-Horner, who has reportedly emerged ‘stronger than ever’ with husband Christian Horner following a scandal that rocked the F1 world. The Spice Girl has stood by her motorsports executive hubby, but is said to be ‘no pushover’
From rising to fame as a Spice Girl to becoming a bestselling author, Geri Halliwell-Horner has certainly led a fascinating life, but there have been a few ups and downs along the way.
The flame-haired pop icon, who has just published her new book Rosie Frost: Ice on Fire, has faced some challenges in her personal life in recent years after her husband Christian Horner found himself at the centre of an alleged F1 sexting scandal.
The racing driver turned motorsports executive was accused of sending inappropriate text messages to an unnamed woman in her 40s, who reported him to HR. Christian, who denied any wrongdoing, was exonerated by an independent investigation in February 2024 and ultimately maintained his high-profile position. He and Geri, who share a seven-year-old son, Monty, are still going strong and are understood to be putting the past behind them. However, a source has insisted Ginger Spice is “no pushover”.

Revealing that the allegations had come as a “shock” to mum-of-two Geri, the source told The Sun: “People think Geri was just blindly standing by her man through the whole thing, but it’s not like that at all.” When the allegations first came out, the source says, the Spice Girls star naturally had questions.
“It was a shock to both of them when the allegations blew up – they never saw it coming and a lot of people were spreading hurtful rumours, but it was all untrue, they are in a really good place right now.”
Just last month, it was reported that, after 10 years of going by the name Geri Horner, the 52-year-old had decided to double-barrel her surname, bringing back the maiden name of Halliwell that she was best known by during the height of ’90s girl power. She now goes by Geri Horner-Halliwell in what appears to be a telling move as the Watford-born music legend continues to build upon her varied career.
The Mail reports that there are ongoing conversations between London-based television company Blast Films and world-leading streaming giants for a fly-on-the-wall doc centred around Geri. According to industry sources, the firm has pitched a lifestyle reality show to Amazon and Netflix that has drawn comparisons to Meghan Markle’s cookery series, With Love, Meghan.
One source remarked: “It could end up being a real bidding war situation as Geri is fascinating. By the sounds of it, the show would very much suit Geri’s new reinvention as a well-heeled, upmarket lady. It all feels very Meghan so let’s see how it all pans out. People are really starting to chatter about it now, and there is real hope that it could happen.”
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with The Times, Geri opened up about her and Christian’s “fun” couple rituals, after what has been a trying year, sharing: “I’ve made some notes. We walk the dogs together, we like walking. I bought him a Goldendoodle for his birthday. I hid the puppy in a phone box and handed it to him. We’re very much old-school and family-focused.”
In the same interview, Geri shed some light on their married life behind closed doors, including their love of barbeques. Geri joked: “It’s a real man thing.” Like other couples, there’s also a bit of playful bickering over household chores. She revealed: “He’s very tidy. I might leave things around, which makes him a bit cross.” Opening up about their telly-watching habits, Geri revealed: “We’ll find a series that we lock into. I’ll try my best not to watch it when he goes away. I waited for him before finishing Severance.”
Sharing why the pair are now “stronger than ever”, a source close to the couple tells New!: “Geri and Christian are determined to have fun and show how strong they are; it’s their marriage pact. They’re stronger than ever and have managed to bounce back from all of the scandal. She wants to make that clear to everyone.”
