Geri Horner has had a tough year following husband Christian’s alleged ‘inappropriate behaviour’ at work – but she’s now remaking herself in the US with a complete career change
Geri Horner made fashion history wearing the famous Union Jack dress in 1997, but she might soon be swapping it out for the stars and stripes. The Spice Girls star has found new success with a major career change in the United States, and is set to become a huge name on the other side of the pond.
Geri, 52, has ditched the microphone in favour of the pen, after introducing a new children’s series called Rosie Frost, about a girl on a quest to figure out who or what is responsible for the death of her mother.
She released the first book, Rosie Frost and The Falcon Queen, in 2023, and the next instalment, Rosie Frost: Ice On Fire, came out just a few days ago.
Geri usually lives between two homes in the UK, but in order to promote the new book release she opted to leave husband Christian Horner, 51, and the kids behind and go on tour in America.
The singer spent the beginning of this month visiting New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Atlanta, and Miami on her huge book tour – and insiders say it’s only the beginning of her love affair with the US after secretly meeting with Hollywood bosses to discuss getting Rosie Frost on the silver screen.
“Geri has had meetings with film bosses over the past month and there have been serious discussions about bringing her book trilogy to the big screen,” an insider told The Sun.
They added that a Hollywood adaptation of her books is “a real possibility,” and that Geri would have a role as a consultant if the project comes to fruition. “It’s certainly an exciting time for her,” the source said.
Explaining that Geri has “really benefitted” from the Americans’ love of the Spice Girls, the insider also suggested that people are more open to her career change across the pond than they are in the UK.
“There is no snootiness about her becoming an author, either. That’s just not the vibe in America as they have a ‘anyone can do anything’ attitude, which is a mantra reflective of Geri’s,” they said.
“It’s such a welcoming environment and Geri can promote her book without any sneering that she’s a former pop star.”
Geri’s books formed the basis of a lot of recent rumours, after fans noticed that Geri had reintroduced her maiden name for her pen signature, going by Geri Halliwell-Horner.
Some fans took it as a sign that the couple might be struggling, but Geri clarified that her legal name was still Horner a year after Christian’s Formula One texting scandal.
Fans first became concerned about the couple in February 2024, when a female Formula One colleague accused Christian of “inappropriate behaviour” – but he was later cleared by an external review.
