Home cooks have been raving about the Morphy Richards 4L Digital Air Fryer online, with many praising its ability to cook tasty chips.

One said as part of a lengthy review: “Best value air fryer. Very quiet indeed, does excellent frozen or real chips – which, to be frank, was the main reason for buying it for me.

They continued: “For chips, I’ve found it best to just pull the tray out and agitate chips every 7 to 10 minutes depending on type/size of chips. Results are nice and crispy outside, lovely and fluffy inside.

“Takes about 30 mins for chips, which is longer than frying, but similar to oven chips. No smells, no mess, easy-peasy washing afterwards.”

Another shopper echoed this, saying: “It’s a nifty piece of kit. Done chips, sausages, lamb steaks, beef steaks, and chicken. It cooks in less time. Love it – no fat, just drains into the drawer, then tips away.”

A further reviewer said they liked the cooker’s design, commenting: “Love this air fryer. It’s stylish, very quiet, and makes great chips. Would highly recommend.”

Despite this, one shopper did note they found the cooker a bit hefty, writing: “Not used it much since purchase, primarily to do chips; they work better in this with regular potatoes than sweet potatoes and you probably need more oil than you think to get a good crisp result.

“At the price, compared to the alternatives, I’m not going to be too hard at this stage; you do, however, need to be prepared for the sheer size of this and hopefully have space to hide it away in the kitchen.

“It’s not far off the proportions of a Henry vacuum cleaner!” However, the gadget had plenty of other fans, with another reviewer commenting: “By far the best air fryer out there, fantastic price and so easy to use.”

Another commented: “So far, the best thing about this is perfect chips. Have been eating oven chips for years so great to have real ones for a change and without the awful smell in the kitchen and no mess.”
