With summer on the horizon, a pristine lawn becomes the centrepiece of any garden . However, winter often leaves our grass looking subpar – uneven, patchy, or entirely lifeless.

For gardeners facing these problems, one expert on social media has spilled the beans on reviving your lawn with ease. Michael the Mediterranean Gardener on TikTok revealed a four-step miracle method for achieving a flawless lawn ready for the upcoming summer season.

In a recent viral clip, Michael enlightens viewers on how to kickstart their grass into flourishing again – and it all begins with mowing. “If you haven’t got out there yet, it’s time for the first cut.”

He stressed: “Keep it around 4cm in height. Remember we’re waking it up, not giving it a buzz cut.”

Next up, give your lawn a breath of fresh air via aeration – to do this, just grab a garden fork and get prodding, reports the Express. According to Michael: “If your lawn’s been soggy and sad all winter, a garden fork will help.”

Then it’s time to scarify the lawn, which is just a ‘fancy way’ of saying ripping out the moss and thatch. And then, grabbing a lawn-levelling rake, he said: “If your lawn is lumpy, now is the perfect time to level it.”

This should be enough to fix your lawn, but if you spot bare patches, there’s one thing to remember – overseeding is the answer. Michael endorses this by saying: “Rake in some fresh seed, water well, and watch it fill out.”
