George Gilbey tragic last moments have been shared by friends following his sudden death this week.

The Gogglebox star, 40, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning following a workplace incident in Essex. A man has since been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with George’s death.

George had reportedly been working as an electrician in the week leading up to his death. The Celebrity Big Brother finalist died on a building site in Shoeby after reportedly falling 80ft through a skylight onto concrete. His last words have been revealed by a friend who said George was on the roof of an Essex warehouse when the fatal incident happened.

The friend shared, “George had not been in a good way and maybe should not have been working at all. He was up on the roof and the others were shouting at him to get down and to be careful.”

Speaking to The Sun, the friend added: “He was shouting back that he was alright, even though he was not very steady on his feet. Then, he apparently came through a skylight so fell from the outside of the roof about 80ft on to concrete inside. Poor George did not stand a chance and it is a terrible way to go.”

George’s tragic death occurred at the EGL Homecare site in Shoebury, Essex, earlier this week. A man in his 40s has since been arrested for suspected manslaughter in relation to the incident. The police are continuing to investigate the tragic event along with health and safety officials.
