Shaun Malone has announced Rottweiler Bob, who often appeared alongside them on the sofa, has died as fans rushed to offer their support to the family

Gogglebox stars the Malones have left fans devastated after announcing the death of their show-regular dog Bob.

It is fresh heartache for the popular clan, who have now lost four dogs since 2018. Sharing some videos and pictures of their beloved pet, Shaun wrote: “Today is the day we had to say goodbye to big bob, absolute great dog like a big cuddly bear.”

The Rottweiler was a fixture on the C4 show, and was often seen curled up on the sofa with his head in Shaun’s lap as he reviewed the weeks’ TV with his family.

It’s more heartache for Tom Sr, Julie, Shaun and Tom Jr after the death of their other dog Dave back in October 2023. The Manchester-based Channel 4 favourites also lost boxer Frank back in 2018. They also mourned Lucy’s death in 2022.

Following the announcement, their social media was flooded with condolences from fellow Gogglebox stars and supportive fans. Ellie Warner commented: “So sorry to hear about Bobby, run free over the rainbow bridge” while her sister Izzi said: “Sending you all lots of love.”

They wrote at the time: “RIP Dave xxx There are no words to describe you, or how much you meant to us. This was you on Sunday waiting for your Dad to come back and he had only gone out to the car x We are all going to miss you so much.”

While they joined the cast as a family over a decade ago, Tom Jnr left to pursue other projects in 2021. Fans have occasionally seen Tom and Julie’s daughter, Vanessa, appear on the show. Off-screen, Tom Sr works as a lorry driver, Julie is a receptionist, and Tom Jnr has built a career in modelling and dance choreography.

The Siddiqui family were also flooded with support from fans after announcing the death of their beloved pet cat. The familiar faces – Sid, Raza, Baasit, and Umar – have been part of the Channel 4 hit since the first series in 2013, winning over viewers with their sharp and funny observations on the week’s TV.

They revealed the sad loss of their beloved pet, Rufus, with Baasit and Melissa Siddiqui penning a heartfelt statement in February: “Goodnight our beautiful boy Rufus. 15 and a half years wasn’t long enough, you were and always will be a big part of our lives.

“The most chilled, cuddly and beautiful boy who made us a family right back at the beginning. Lots of memories that we will never forget and we are truly grateful to have known and loved you. Sleep tight our handsome Boy.”
