There’s nothing more annoying than reaching for some tin foil only to find it won’t come off the roll properly, leaving you with the maddening task of trying to separate it. We’ve all been there our tin foil just won’t cooperate – clinging together and tearing into frustratingly small strips.

It’s the last thing you need when you’re in a rush to line a tray before popping something in the oven. And some of us get so fed up that we chuck the whole roll in the bin and nip out to buy a new one. But to save both time and pennies, this nifty little trick could put an end to your foil woes.

Over on Instagram, Natali, a US mum famed for her savvy life hacks, revealed: “This kitchen hack will save you a lot of money on buying new foil.” She credits her grandmother for passing down the wisdom.

Natali advises that if you’re struggling with a tin foil nightmare, where the sheet keeps tearing off in short pieces, simply tear off a tiny bit of foil and scrunch it into a ball. Then, rub this makeshift scrubber over the edge of the roll where it’s coming apart.

Keep rubbing until the pesky bits come loose and you’re left with a continuous line. Give it a tug, and voila, you should have a complete sheet of tin foil ready to go!

This clever tip has left many gobsmacked. One person who gave it a try exclaimed: “I do this now, it really works.” Another commented: “Wow, smart idea.” Meanwhile, a third chimed in: “Useful life hack.”

Natali has shared another nifty trick you can try with tin foil, and it’s a game-changer. “You won’t believe this,” she exclaimed.

If you fancy a toastie but don’t have the time to make one from scratch, Natali suggests a quick fix. Simply wrap your sandwich in tin foil, and then, as shown in her recent video, grab a hot iron.

In the clip that’s been making rounds online, Natali demonstrates by placing cheese between two slices of bread, pressing them together, and wrapping them in tin foil.

She then takes a hot iron and gently rubs it over the tin foil-wrapped sandwich, going back and forth on each side for a bit. When you unwrap the foil, voila your ordinary sandwich has transformed into a delicious toasted treat.

Natali was thrilled with the result, calling it “incredible” and confidently stating, “This method works.”
