A source claimed claimed that Prince Harry might be happy to share photos of his children online in the hope that his father, King Charles, could see them and ‘realise what he’s missing’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t share many photos of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet when the children were younger, but things seem to have changed in recent months. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a series of family moments on social media – including Father’s Day snaps and a recent trip to Disneyland to celebrate Lilibet’s birthday.

Meghan returned to Instagram earlier this year, when she launched her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, followed by her brand, As Ever. And through her profile, the former Suits actress has been giving fans an insight into her family life, while also sharing fun moments with her husband, including when they were dancing to the viral Baby Momma song ahead of Lilibet’s birth.

However, an insider has now claimed there might be a heartbreaking reason why the Sussexes are now sharing more photos of their two children.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source claimed that Harry is “completely heartbroken” as his father, King Charles, refuses to see him or the family – and posting photos of them online could be “a last resort” so that the monarch can see them and “realise what he’s missing.”

The insider claimed: “Harry is completely heartbroken. His dad refuses to see him or the kids – not even on Zoom… It’s a last resort. He’s desperately hoping the King might see a picture of Archie or Lilibet and realise what he’s missing.”

According to the source, Harry made several attempts to reach out to Charles over the years, including calls and letters, however “nothing’s worked.” The claims come week after Harry, who moved to California in 2020, said during an interview with the BBC that he still hopes for a “reconciliation” with his family back in the UK.

He said: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things. But you know, I would love reconciliation with my family. I’ve always, there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

Harry added: “And I said, life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has he, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told Sky News: “He does not believe he can bring his children back to meet their grandfather even though, in his words, he doesn’t know how long his father has got to live. I presume Harry knows a little bit more than the rest of us about the King’s health.”

She went on to reveal why the Duke might be left in the dark regarding his father’s health. Jennie explained: “The family, they do not trust him to keep private conversations private. And now he’s gone so public with his raw emotions over this, I think that’s going to reinforce that.”

When asked if the last step to repairing relations with his family was the security issue, Harry said “100%”, adding: “Whatever noise is being created, whatever stories have been written, this has always been the sticking point.” Harry also admitted he “can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”

He added: “I love my country, I always have done. Despite what some people in that country have done. I miss the UK, of course I do. I think that’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

Meghan recently spoke about Archie and Lilibet – affectionately referred to as Lili – in a podcast interview with Emma Grede, British-born CEO of fashion brand Good American and a founding partner of Kim Kardashian’s Skims line. During the chat, the Duchess of Sussex said her children sell homegrown fruit and vegetables at a farmers’ market because she wants them to understand the “value of things”.

The former actress said she believes the practice helps teach her kids the value of money because they are “very lucky” to live in a “privileged” home. She and Harry encourage the children to do gardening regularly, and take pride in the crops in order to sell them at a market in Montecito.

Meghan said: “There’s a cost and a price for things, and I think that’s key for children to understand, especially children who are very lucky to have a home, that has privilege, you need to know that just like manners, and taking care of the things around you, there is a value on things.”

The Mirror has contacted Prince Harry’s representatives for comment.
