A nine-year-old girl and her father have tragically died following a house fire in Heckmondwike which has left another child fighting for her life.
Police raced to the scene in West Yorkshire on Sunday morning after reports of a fire. Two girls, aged nine and eleven, were both taken to hospital for treatment. The man sadly died at the scene despite ambulance crews battling to save him.
The nine-year-old died in hospital later that day while the older girl remains in a critical condition.
