To celebrate 170 years of making watching, Timex is releasing a limited-edition watch design called the Waterbury today, The Waterbury watch. You’ll need to be quick if you want to bag one though; Timex are only releasing 1,000 of these classic timepieces, and as they went on sale at 10am today, we expect they’ll fly off the shelves.

this sale has been created to commemorate Timex’s iconic Yankee pocket watch, which launched in 1854 and was priced at $1. Its elegant and timeless design features a black leather strap, simple white dial and special engraving on the back. Unisex and stylish, this would make an extra-special gift for someone this Christmas – so don’t hang about if you want to bag this bargain, as we reckon it’ll fly off the shelves.
If you do happen to miss this sale, Timex has plenty of other great designs worth checking out. For an option under £100, we love the retro Timex T80 34mm Stainless Steel Expansion Band Watch, £85, available in silver and gold, and a throwback to some of the very first digital watches.
For something a little more sophisticated, the Timex Legacy 36mm Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch gets our vote with its two-tone metal strap and luxe-looking green face. At £130, we think it looks much more expensive than it actually is.
