Whilst countless UK tourists after a staycation rush to well-known Cornish holiday hotspots like St Ives, Newquay, and Port Isaac, one travel expert has spotlighted a hidden coastal gem boasting ‘turquoise’ waters and breathtaking rambles.

Emily, known as @europewithemily on TikTok, regularly dishes out travel tips across Europe to her 9762 followers. But in a recent clip, she shifted focus to Cornwall. The footage opens with a stunning beach panorama, paired with the caption: “When people visit St Ives in Cornwall and miss this place one hour away.” In her description, she encouraged viewers to “Save this hidden gem for your next trip to Cornwall.”

She continued: “While St Ives, Newquay, and Port Isaac are undoubtedly beautiful, they can often be crowded with tourists.

“If you’re seeking a more tranquil, less tourist-heavy Cornish retreat, then consider St Agnes – a true hidden gem on the north coast of Cornwall. This delightful coastal village feels like it’s yet to be fully discovered, offering a much quieter and more relaxed atmosphere.

“Expect turquoise waters, picturesque walks, and a friendly local vibe. If you’re planning a UK staycation, a solo trip or a weekend away with friends and family, St Agnes is the perfect off-the-beaten-path destination in Cornwall!”. Emily highlighted several gems in St Agnes, including The Driftwood Spars, a classic Cornish boozer famous for its locally crafted ales and Friday night live entertainment.

She also pointed to Schooners, a seafront watering hole serving up fresh takeaway pizzas.

Another tip from Emily was The Sorting Office Coffeehouse, which she dubbed a “cosy little spot in the village for great coffee and a relaxed vibe”.
