Lindt chocolate lovers are rushing to Home Bargains for a special edition treat that costs only £4.99. This delightful find is perfect for Easter shoppers seeking a delicious and eye-catching gift.

Taking to Instagram, Home Bargains revealed it is now offering Lindt’s iconic gold bunnies in a special edition wrapper. Sharing the news with its 1.1 million fans, the store said: “The iconic Lindt bunny has just had a makeover £4.99 (RRP £7).”

Ordinarily, a 200g Lindt chocolate bunny might set you back between £5-£7. However, Home Bargains has sweetened the deal by slashing the price, making the special edition version incredibly affordable.

What sets this Easter goodie apart as a ‘special edition’ is its dazzling packaging. Instead of the traditional smooth, solid gold colour, the wrapper of the £4.99 bunny at Home Bargains twinkles with glitter as it catches the light, reports the Liverpool Echo.

It didn’t take long for eager shoppers to flood the comments with excitement. One user named Angelina was so amazed by the bargain that she commented: “Is this real?” Quickly getting a response, another shopper confirmed: “Yes. Saw them in my local Home Bargains.” Yet another chimed in: “Yeah I saw them the other day.”

Tasha, keen on snagging one of these shimmering bunnies, reached out by tagging a friend and saying: “Please buy me one these.” Another prospective buyer was already planning their visit, posting: “Hope I can get my hands on this tomorrow.” But not all were convinced about the value, as Charl voiced skepticism: “Paying for the packaging? No thanks.”

The official Lindt website describes its Gold Bunny as: “Hop into the Easter season with our iconic Lindt Gold Bunny. Every year, our Master Chocolatiers combine the finest Swiss chocolate with their unrivalled skill to expertly craft each one. Discover our classic Milk Chocolate Gold Bunny with its signature gold foil, red ribbon collar and gold bell. The perfect gift to treat a loved one – or yourself! Make them smile from ear to ear this Easter with the Lindt Gold Bunny.”

The Lindt Gold Bunny is hollow on the inside and crafted from vanillin-flavoured milk chocolate. Its distinctive gold foil is adorned with a decorative red ribbon and bell.

Home Bargains has also been turning heads with its new range of plant pots. Over the weekend, the retailer showcased a variety of pots on Instagram, captioning the post: “You want planters? We got planters!” The prices for outdoor pots in Home Bargains’ Garden World section vary, with some starting from a mere £1.29. Some of the pricier options hover around the £35 mark.

At the start of the month, Home Bargains fooled shoppers by releasing a sneak preview of its upcoming 2025 Christmas collection. The store said the festive range would be hitting shelves this week.

It wasn’t long before shoppers were told: “April Fools! Sorry to disappoint everyone, but Christmas will not be in stores next week. You’ll have to wait until May for that.” One person said: “Ha ha you got me there for a second.” Another shared: “I still would actually buy it.” A third put: “But honestly, this wouldn’t surprise me. It gets earlier and earlier every year. April seems about right.”
