Police forced entry into the flat and found the lifeless body of Anda Sasha, 34, on the floor after her family raised the alarm – she had been partially eaten by her two pugs

A woman has been found half-eaten by her pet pugs after dying at home.

The tragic scene unfolded after the family of Adriana Neagoe, 34, also known as Anda Sasha, raised the alarm after they hadn’t heard from her in five days and grew worried for her wellbeing. One of them contacted the police and explained that she had not been responding to calls or messages on her phone, and had not answered the door. Police forced entry to her flat in Târgu Jiu, northwest of Bucharest, Romania, where they discovered her lifeless body on the floor.

Her two pugs were beside her, and officers said it was clear that they had begun to eat away at her flesh. According to police, firefighters helped them ram through the locked door of the woman’s home, and were accompanied by the person who had called them. An ambulance crew arrived at the scene and confirmed her death. They found no signs of her being the victim of violence.

On her body there were signs of cadaveric livity, also known as livor mortis, which is when blood pools in the lowest parts of the body after death, and causes a pink to dark purple discolouration of the skin. Anda’s body was transported to the Gorj Forensic Medicine Service so that an autopsy could be performed to determine her cause of death.

The police of Târgu Jiu issued a shelter order for Anda’s two dogs, and they were taken by workers from the Gorj County Council. Police have opened an investigation and are said to be exploring what may have caused her death.

Photographs shared on social media show Anda posing with her pugs. Her sister, Maria Alexandra, shared an emotional message on Facebook yesterday. She said: “Another angel has gone to heaven. My beautiful sister Anda Sasha is no longer among us.”

Friends and local residents were quick to offer their condolences to Anda’s family and told of their shock. Daniel added: “Condolences, I can’t believe it. I am so sorry.” Roby said: “What is this life, today you are and tomorrow you are not. What a pity for her youth. May God rest her soul in peace. I don’t believe what just happened,” added Alysa. Mara said: “I am devastated! May God protect her and give you the strength to overcome. Please let me know if I can help with anything. Condolences.”
