Skincare prep

As any good beauty lover knows, skincare is one of the most important parts of any makeup look. Creating the right base can make your makeup last longer, stop foundation from cracking or going patchy, and make it easier to blend products together.

To get Holly’s skin ready for her Dancing on Ice glam, Patsy used the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks, which are currently on sale at Sephora down from £59 to £50.20 for a pack of six. The eye masks work in just 20 minutes, and are formulated to instantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reducing puffiness and tightening and hydrating the skin around your eyes.

Next Patsy used the The Liquid Silk Canvas from Tatcha, which is a weightless liquid primer that helps your makeup apply better and last longer whilst protecting your skin from pollutants. You can pick up a 10g bottle for £25, or splurge on the 30g bottle for £51.

Base makeup

For Holly’s base, Patsy used the Ilia Beauty Skin Rewind Complexion Stick, £48, in the shade Holly. The foundation stick has up to 12 hours of wear and a buildable medium coverage that blurs pores and reduces redness. It also helps mask texture, and contains skincare-based ingredients that help firm, smooth and soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

To create the soft natural-looking glow, Patsy used only blush on Holly’s cheeks, opting for Suqqu’s Blurring Colour Blush in shade 03 Yuunami (£40). Despite being a pressed powder formula, the blusher is surprisingly hydrating and creamy, and has been enriched with hyaluronic acid, shea butter, rosa canina fruit oil and jojoba seed oil to help moisturise and nourish your skin as you wear it. It also smoothes and enhances your skin, giving it a blurred finish, with a gradient colour shade which acts as both a cheek colour and a highlighter leaving a soft sheen finish.

Eye makeup

After keeping the rest of her look natural and fresh-looking, Patsy chose to focus on making Holly’s eyes the star of the show. For the base of her eye makeup look, Patsy combined Lisa Eldridge Beauty Liquid Silk Eyeshadow in shade Irene, £26, with shade Olympus from Delilah Cosmetics Colour Intense Venus Eyeshadow Palette, £41, and Hildun Beauty’s Silk to Set Kajal Liner in shade Chocolate, £16.

Once she’d created a soft, subtle smokey eyeshadow look, Patsy used Illamasqua’s Precision Gel Liner in shade Infinity to create another of Holly’s signatures – a sharp cat eye flick. The gel liner is currently on sale on the Illamasqua website, down from £21 to £8.40, saving you more than 50%.

For Holly’s lashes, Patsy finished off with a coat of Merit’s Clean Lash Mascara, £23, a tubing mascara which lengthens, tints and defines your lashes without any smudging. For her brows, Holly was wearing Rare Beauty’s Brow Harmony in Soft Blonde, £19, which has a sweat and oil-resistant pencil at one end and a brush at the other to create natural-looking brows that stay put.

Lipstick of choice

Patsy chose to keep Holly’s lip look to a minimum, opting for a simple sweep of Hourglass Cosmetics Unlocked Lipstick in shade Dahlia. The £37 lippy has a moisturising, nourishing formula that contains mango seed butter, avocado oil and argan oil to give your lips a healthy dose of hydration.

It also has a slick satin finish, with cushioning comfortwear technology to keep the colour in place whilst still feeling soft and comfortable to wear. Holly’s go-to shade Dahlia is a soft rosy pink, although you can choose from plenty of shades including pale nudes and bold reds.
